2024 KIChE Spring Meeting

Members of the M3 Group participated in the 2024 Spring Meeting of the Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, held at the International Convention Center Jeju (ICC Jeju). The conference brought together researchers and professionals from across Korea for academic exchange and discussion on recent advances in industrial and engineering chemistry.

During the meeting, Sun-young presented a poster entitled “Mathematical Modelling and Optimisation of Acetic Acid and Ammonia Recovery in Amino Acid Production Using Reverse Osmosis Processes.” The work focused on developing a rigorous modelling framework and optimisation strategy to enhance resource recovery efficiency in membrane-based separation systems.

Jingyeong delivered a poster presentation entitled “On Developing a Simulation Approach for Blood Oxygenation Mechanisms within ECMO.” The study introduced a computational framework to better understand oxygen transport phenomena and performance characteristics in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation systems.

In addition, Yuhyeok gave an oral presentation entitled “Multi-level Modelling of Reverse Osmosis Processes Incorporating CFD Results in a Process Model.” The presentation demonstrated an integrated modelling approach that links detailed CFD analyses with system-level process simulations to improve predictive capability and design optimisation.

The conference provided an excellent platform for sharing recent research outcomes and fostering meaningful academic interactions within the chemical engineering community.
